New York Times bestselling author Jefferson Bethke is coming to Norwell High School as part of Tower Life Center’s Community Conference Men’s Night at Norwell High School on May 9.
The free event will include Christian worship songs, a message from Bethke, a time for fellowship and a pulled pork nacho bar, according to the event’s Facebook page. Bethke will be talking about masculinity in the modern era, specifically how men should step into Jesus’ vision for them. Men over 16 years-old are encouraged to attend.
“If you’re a man who’s wondering what to do with your strength, your longings and your gifts, it’s time to step out of the shadows. Jesus has a vision for you,” the event description states.
Doors will open for dinner at 6 p.m., with the conference starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9:15 p.m.
Bethke’s new book, Fighting Shadows: Overcoming 7 Lies That Keep Men From Becoming Fully Alive, dissects the temptations that modern men face and harmful sins that hinder men.
Bethke has authored Jesus>Religion, a bestselling title about Jesus’ love for others versus a works based religion. Bethke also made a video on YouTube titled “Why I Hate Religion but Love Jesus”, which was released in January 2012 and has garnered over 35 million views.
