Briah Diane Burnsworth, 29, Decatur, was sentenced to one year at the Indiana Department of Corrections with all but two days suspended. Burnsworth pleaded guilty to theft, a Level 6 Felony. She is also ordered to complete 363 days of probation, pay restitution fees in the amount of $1,360.80, and court costs and filing fees in the amount of $189.

Sarah R Crowder, 19, Bluffton, was sentenced to one year at the Indiana Department of Corrections with all but two days suspended. Crowder pleaded guilty to theft, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Robert Ryan Maxwell, 45, Bluffton, was sentenced to 122 in jail with 122 days of jail credit. Maxwell pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a Class B Misdemeanor. The charges stem from a 911 call from Maxwell’s wife, who stated he stole her vehicle. When the vehicle was located, it began to accelerate past 80 mph and eventually pulled over. Maxwell was identified as the driver. Maxwell was also ordered to pay $345 to the state and $189.50 in court costs and filing fees.

Criminal Cases
Derek T Zerbe, 30, Decatur, pleaded guilty to possession of a narcotic drug between 10 and 28 grams, a Level 4 Felony. As part of the plea agreement, possession of marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor, Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class B Misdemeanor, false informing, a Class D Misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class A Misdemeanor, were dismissed. Zerbe is scheduled to be sentenced for this case at 9 a.m. Sept. 6 in the Wells Circuit Court.

Rodney Eugene Hedgecraft, 52, Anderson, pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex or violent offender where the defendant has a prior conviction, a Level 5 Felony. Hedgecraft received treatment at Praxis and failed to update his address, resulting in his arrest. Hedgecraft was charged with sexual battery in the Madison Circuit Court in 2003 and is required to register as a violent offender for the rest of his life. According to public records, Hedgecraft has acquired multiple additional felonies for failing to register as a sex offender three separate times, battery, aggravated battery, violating a home detention order, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and endangering a person on multiple occasions. Hedgecraft is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. Sept. 6 in the Wells Circuit Court.
