Tuesday, 1:14 a.m. Animal problem reported in the 1200 block of Lancaster Street. Issue resolved.
Tuesday, 1:15 a.m. Individual recently discharged from Bluffton Regional Medical Center was not leaving the premises. Man had left before officers arrived.
Tuesday, 2:13 a.m. Individual on bicycle struck car on South Bennett Street near Washington Street.
Tuesday, 4:30 a.m. Agency assist requested at Praxis, 1529 Lancaster St., for an individual in apparent need of Narcan.
Tuesday, 6:37 a.m. Deer in roadway at North Main Street and North Sutton Circle Drive. Some car parts were in the roadway as well.
Tuesday, 7:01 a.m. Car at the intersection of Cherry and Jersey streets is up on blocks and a caller said it appeared that it may fall. Officer determined that it was not likely to fall.
Tuesday, 10:21 a.m. Caller made a report of fraud in the 500 block of West Wiley Avenue.
Thesday, 10:50 a.m. Individual warned for disorderly conduct in the 1100 block of South Main Street.

Monday, 1:40 p.m., 2992S West Street, Liberty Center. Report of a neighbor’s dog attacking and killing the resident’s dog. Complainant stated the neighbor was compliant in the ongoing issue with their agressive dog. The deputy advised the resident to contact the animal shelter about the dog.
Monday, 3 p.m., 1000S and 400W. Male walking along road. Advised he had an argument with his father. The deputy transported the subject home and the subject’s father said things were OK.
Monday, 8:12 p.m., 2718E Center Drive, Bluffton. Report of a stray cat biting a juvenile. Mother advised the cat often stays at her neighbor’s house and had gotten into a fight with the woman’s cat. She stated her child had tried to separate the cats and was bit. The neighbors advised they had fed the stray and allowed it to stay in their garage during the winter. The deputy explained that if they were going to feed and keep the stray, they were also responsible for the animal’s health and vaccination. Animal Control arrived on scene and explained the quarantine procedure. The neighbor stated they would claim the animal and quarantine it to prevent it from being euthanized.
Monday, 8:47 p.m., 210 Premier Ave. Complaint of smoke west of the apartments. Unable to locate.
Tuesday, 7:17 a.m., Ind. 1 and U.S. 224. Deputy stopped at an intersection observed a vehicle sitting in the turn lane on Ind. 1 for U.S. 224, then continuing northbound. The deputy activated emergency lights and pulled the vehicle over, at which point it was noted the license plate did not correspond with vehicle. The deputy noted driver Asia M. Hulbert, 31, smelled strongly of marijuana. Hulbert then provided the proper paperwork and insurance for the vehicle, as well as a pre-rolled marijuana cigarette from the passenger side of the car. A search of the vehicle found no other contraband. Hulbert was given a summons for two infractions, unsafe lane movement and learner permit violation, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor. The vehicle was left at the side of the road for a valid driver to arrive and take it away.
Tuesday, 10:47 a.m. Authorities called to a residence on 800N after a caller reported a threat.

Monday, 3:54 p.m., Napa Auto Parts. Man fell out of his truck. Assisted EMS.
ACCIDENTS
County:
Sunday, Walmart, Bluffton. Neil A. Hoffman, 84, Bluffton, was backing a 2012 Honda Civic out of a parking space when his foot slipped on the brake pedal and he could not get it back on the pedal. The vehicle continued circling in reverse, striking the rear bumper of an unattended parked 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. It continued to back until it hit the rear bumper of a 2015 GMC Yukon SUV, where Hoffman’s vehicle came to a rest. Hoffman’s vehicle sustained damage to the back bumper, driver’s side fender and driver door. Damage exceeded $5,000.
Monday, 6:20 a.m., 2803N Ind. 1, Bluffton. Evan Holliday, 23, Ossian, was in a 2022 Dodge Durango SUV and was pulling out onto Ind. 1 when the vehicle went off the driveway and struck a mailbox. The mailbox was knocked over and the metal pole broke inside. Damage exceeded $1,000.
Tuesday, 7:17 a.m., Ind. 1 near U. 224, Kingsland. Kelsey J. Miller, 28, Poneto was driving a 2012 GMC Acadia SUV southbound on Ind. 1 when a Wells County deputy signaled for a traffic stop in the northbound lane. Miller slowed and pulled to the side of the road to yield the right of way to the deputy and was struck by a 2002 Jeep Liberty driven by Kiley D. Bishop, 18, Fort Wayne. Neither vehicle was towed, but the key was unable to be removed from the ignition of Miller’s vehicle. Miller also complained of back pain, but denied treatment. Damage exceeded $5,000.

Saturday, 5:56 p.m. Fire alarm at Praxis, 1529 Lancaster St. Alarm may have been possibly picking up cigarette smoke.
Saturday, 9:56 p.m., 907 W. Washington St. in Bluffton. Fire reported in a residence, with flames in an upper level. Structure evacuated. Fire reported under control at 10:45 p.m. Upstairs area is considered a total loss; Salvation Army was able to relocate residents to a local motel. Bluffton, Liberty Township, and Ossian fire departments responded.
Sunday, 4:33 .m. Ossian fire responders called out to the 200 block of Maxine Drive for a medical problem.
Sunday, 11:03 a.m. First responder call made to the Chester Township Fire Department regarding a medical emergency on Wells County Road 1100S between 700W and 800W.
Sunday, 11:58 a.m. Nottingham Towenship Fire Department called out to a structure fire at 6041E-800S. Electrical fire was reportedly extinguised but there was still smoke inside the home. All occupants were outside the structure.

Monday, 8:24 p.m. Bluffton first responders called to the 1300 block of Bell Brook Boulevard in reference to a fall.

Tuesday, 1:51 p.m. Uniondale first responders called to a residence on West U.S. 224 regarding an individual with possible COVID-19 symptoms.

Maximiano Ruiz Flores, 27, Hoagland; operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license, a Class C misdemeanor. Booked and released.
Tessa Lynne Karbach, 37, Fort Wayne; pick-pocketing, value more than $750 but less than $50,000, a Level 6 felony. Bond set at $5,000.
Ronald Lee Petty, 50, Bluffton; domestic battery with a prior unrelated conviction for battery in the same family, a Level 5 felony. Bond set at $5,000.
Nicole R. Burris, 43, Marion; contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor, providing alcohol to a minor, a Class B misdemeanor. Bond set at $2,500. Bonded.
Austin Michael White, 20, Fort Wayne; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage, a Class C misdemeanor. No bond set.
Patience Renee Arkwright, 24, Bluffton; probation violation, a Class A misdemeanor. No bond set.
