In October, over 100 women convened for the Wells County Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Women in Leadership conference.
This year, the Wells County Chamber of Commerce will follow up on the success of the conference with a series of Women in Leadership luncheons.
The first of these luncheons will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 30. Brenda Jank, who led the morning session of the leadership conference, will lead these “lunch and learn” events.
Jank is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit “Run Hard. Rest Well,” which offers development seminars about wellness, growth and rest. At the upcoming luncheon, Jank will speak about creating connections to women in all their spaces of leadership in influence, from stay-at-home moms to business owners and retirees.
Erin Prible, the chamber’s executive director, said her organization identified an opportunity to serve women in Wells County by providing a space for rest, community and personal development. After the conference, Prible said many women said they felt refreshed and eager for future opportunities.
Within 24 hours of announcing this upcoming luncheon, over 50 people had registered.
“There’s just ºa need,” Prible said. “There’s a need in our community for women to gather and connect.”
Future Women in Leadership luncheons are scheduled for June 29, Sept. 28 and Nov. 29, and will cover various topics relating to restorative rest. The 2023 Women in Leadership day conference is also scheduled for Oct. 26.
Admission is $12 per person and can be paid at the door or in advance on the Chamber of Commerce’s website.
Additionally, there is a Wells County Women in Leadership private Facebook for women to encourage and share. Prible said the Women in Leadership committee will survey the group regarding future topics and discussions for the conference.
“We’re just really excited for what this year is going to bring,” Prible said. “We encourage that all women, whatever the space for leadership, can and should take time for themselves — it will be worth it.”
