Thursday, 5:40 p.m., Kroger’s, 1555 Harrison Plaza. Caller reported it appeared as if someone was breaking into the empty store next door to Kroger’s. Officers responded. Turned out to be a construction crew cleaning up the store and installing new heaters.
Thursday, 7:28 p.m., Premier Flats, 220 Premier Avenue. Report of a woman punching a man in the face and yelling the man was trying to taker her child. Officers responded and located the woman who denied ever having punched the man and refused to write a statement. The male half of the brouhaha had left. He was later located on a separate call to police and information was taken for a report.
Friday, 3:55 a.m., Main Street at Ind. 124 East. Bluffton police officer pulled over a vehicle and arrested the driver, Phillip Don McQueary, 60, Bluffton, on charges of possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor; and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $2,000.
Friday, 9:42 a.m., residence in the 400 block of West Wiley Avenue. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.

Thursday, 11:57 p.m., U.S. 224 just east of Ind. 1. Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a 1991 Dodge Ram pickup truck because it did not have a working license plate light and discovered that the driver, Andrew William Jones, 39, rural Decatur, had three active suspensions against his driver’s license. He was placed under arrest on one count of driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor, and no or improper license plate light and/or taillights, a Class C infraction.

Friday, 9:17 a.m., Haven Manufacturing, 6935N-Ind. 1. Smoke alarm in the office. Ossian Fire Department dispatched. No fire. Alarm accidentally tripped.
