Friday, 5:15 p.m., Wells County Public Library, 200 W. Washington St. Bicycle stolen from the bike rack outside of the library.

Friday, 7:27 p.m., caller reported a vehicle ran multiple stop signs. When he yelled at the driver that he missed a stop sign, reportedly the driver yelled back at the man to “suck it.” They were last seen at Main and Wabash streets.

Friday, 9:14 p.m., Valley Park apartments. Officers dispatched to a report of a man and a woman arguing loudly. Turned out to be a father disciplining his son.

Friday, 9:18 p.m., residence in the 400 block of East Arnold Street. Caller reported his neighbor’s dog attacked his dog causing a small scratch on the caller’s dog. Officer dispatched. Neighbor advised it was a visiting dog and that the dog had left town.

Saturday, 5:08 p.m., McDonald’s restaurant, 984 N. Main St. Caller reported finding three large bags of clothing and medications abandoned on the restaurant’s patio.

Saturday, 6:53 a.m., officers, Wells County EMS and Bluffton Fire Department first responders dispatched to the Rivergreenway for a 31-year-old female suffering respiratory distress.

Saturday, 9:18 a.m., Wells County Courthouse, 102 W. Market St. Man sleeping on one of the benches.

Saturday, 3:39 p.m., KOA campground, 1625 W. Lancaster St. Officers, Wells County EMS and Bluffton Fire Department first responders dispatched on a report of a 53-year-old female camper who fell and suffered a head injury.

Saturday, 5:47 p.m., residence in the 800 block of Cari Drive, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Officers requested to remove an unwanted man from the residence. They removed Mark Dylan Moore, 29, Bluffton, and charged him with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond was set at $1,500.

Saturday, 7:18 p.m., residence in the 600 block of West Wiley Avenue. Caller reported someone abandoned a small child’s bicycle on his property.

Saturday, 9:06 p.m., Pizza Hut, 632 N. Main St. Officer requested after a couple showed up needing a room for the night. They decided instead to pitch a tent by the Wabash River for a couple days.

Saturday, 9:41 p.m., residence on Townley Street between Scott and Main streets. Report of a man mowing his lawn. Officers responded and advised the man of the city’s noise ordinance.

Saturday, 12:34 a.m., Ellenberger Bros. Realtors and Auctioneers, 130 W. Market St. Report of a man standing outside of the storefront staring into the windows for an hour and a half. Officer responded. The man had moved on.

Sunday, 1:48 a.m., America’s Best Value Inn, 100 Charles Deam Court. Officer requested to remove and warn for trespassing a man who had been loitering outside of the motel for the past two days. Officer spotted the man and noted he was highly intoxicated. He planned to walk back to The Budget Inn where he has been staying.

Sunday, 3:42 a.m., Kingdom Hall of Jehova’s Witnesses, 2803 N. Main St. Caller reported tagging a deer with his Chevrolet Malibu. There was no damage to the car and an officer was unable to locate the deer.

Sunday, 2:57 p.m., 100 block of South Union Street. Caller reported a young man had recently pointed a rifle at the caller’s sons.

Sunday, 5:29 p.m., KOA Campground, 1625 W. Lancaster St. Several juveniles warned for criminal trespass at the campground’s pool.

Sunday, 8:35 p.m., Pak-A-Sak convenience store, 204 W. Wabash St. Caller reported her son’s girlfriend had walked away from the Praxis drug abuse treatment facility and now was too weak to walk back. She was returned to the facility.

Sunday, 9:37 p.m., Pak-A-Sak convenience store, 204 W. Wabash St. Officer pulled over a vehicle and arrested Nancy K. Meharg, 61, Roanoke, on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalency of at least .08 percent but less than .15 percent, a Class C misdemeanor; speeding, open alcoholic beverage container during operation of a motor vehicle, failure to signal turn and/or lane change, and improper or no taillights and/or license plate light, all Class C infractions. Bond set at $1,500. Reportedly at the time of the traffic stop, a Breathalyzer test showed Meharg’s blood alcohol concentration equivalency to be .128 percent.

Sunday, 10:27 p.m., Wiley Avenue at Bennett Street. Caller reported a female approached him and said she was beaten by her boyfriend and wanted to go back to South Bend. Officers responded but the woman had left the area.

Sunday, 11:04 p.m., residence in the 200 block of East Wiley Avenue. Caller reported theft of a red Ford Explorer.

Monday, 2:19 a.m., McDonald’s restaurant, 984 N. Main St. Report of a man doing cartwheels in the parking lot. A deputy located the man who said he got off work at the restaurant and was doing cartwheels to improve his balance.

Monday, 2:21 a.m., Pine Grove apartments. Loud verbal altercation between an aunt and her nephew. Officers responded. Situation calmed. Parties separated.

Monday, 8:02 a.m., RediMed, 1980 N. Main St. Officers responded to a report of a woman refusing to leave the lobby of the facility.

Monday, 10:42 a.m., rental property in the 300 block of East Central Avenue. New renters moved in and found drug paraphernalia, which was confiscated by an officer.

County:

Friday, 1:17 p.m., Ind. 3 near Willow Road. Adams County EMS (Wells county medical units were tied up on other calls), Warren Fire Department first responders and sheriff’s deputies responded on a report that a woman had fallen and had broken her ankle down by the bank of the Salamonie River.

Friday, 3:01 p.m., field on 900S east of 100E. Male dementia patient lost in a corn field. Sheriff’s deputies and Nottingham Township Fire Department dispatched for the search. The man was located 50 minutes later.

Saturday, 11:58 a.m., residence on 500N west of Ind. 1. Caller reported his neighbor’s dogs attacked his dog on the porch of his residence and then ran away. Neighbor explained that while he was gone his mother had let the dogs out and they apparently got away. He explained he does not allow them to roam and they are up to date on their vaccinations. Wells County Animal Shelter notified.

Saturday, 3:10 p.m., Silo Farms mobile home park, 11080N.-Ind. 1. Wells County EMS, Ossian Fire Department first responders and sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a teenage girl at the playground vomiting.

Saturday, 5:42 p.m., residence on 600E north of 1000N. Caller worried about a small yellow airplane flying extremely low. The caller was sure it was not a crop duster. Sheriff’s deputy checked it out. It was a crop duster.

Saturday, 10:30 p.m., residence on Ind. 116 southeast of 450E. Caller reported that his home security system captured an image of a man inside the caller’s pickup truck at his residence. Three Bluffton police officers, two Wells County Sheriff’s deputies and a state trooper responded. The residence and barn were searched, but the man caught on video was not inside. The adjacent Six Mile Church was also searched, but no one was found inside. The incident remains under investigation.

Sunday, 10:55 a.m., Silo Farms mobile home park. Caller reported that sometime during the night, someone got into the electrical breaker box outside of the caller’s mobile home and turned off the breakers.

Sunday, 5:39 p.m., 400W north of the Blackford County line. Sheriff’s deputies, Wells County EMS responded to a report of a 21-year-old woman passed out by the river bank on the Salamonie River.

Ossian:

Sunday, 10:04 p.m., Ossian Elementary School, 213 S. Jefferson St. Report of three boys on the roof of the school (this is apparently a sort of a longtime ongoing dare among Ossian’s pre-teens to climb onto the roof of the school). The boys had claimed that another group of boys took a shoe from one of the boys in the first group and tossed it onto the roof. Sheriff’s deputies located the boys, spoke with them and then spoke with their parents.

ACCIDENTS

City:

Saturday, 1:39 p.m., East Riley Street at Liberty Street. Rebecca L. Markley, 59, Bluffton, was driving a 2007 Kia Optima north on Liberty Street when Desarae Barnes, 15, Bluffton, rode a scooter into her path. The ensuing collision knocked Barnes off the scooter giving her a minor head injury that was treated by Wells County EMS personnel at the scene. Damage exceeded $1,000.

County:

Wednesday, 3:09 p.m., 450E at 100N. Scott W. Peters, 43, Geneva, was driving a 2006 International sprayer tender truck south on 450E that was registered to Co-Alliance, rural Avon. Joan M. Hay, 75, rural Ossian, was southbound on 450E in a 2016 Jeep Compass behind the truck. Both stopped for the stop sign at 100N. However Peters started to back up truck and backed into the Compass causing more than $10,000 damage. No one was injured.

Sunday, 2:58 p.m., 300S at County Home Road. Deer ran into the side of a 2014 Dodge Charger driven by Joshua K. Ivins, 21, rural Bluffton. The deer than ran away. Damage to the car exceeded $5,000.

FIRES

Saturday, 5:51 a.m., Derick Bower residence, 90 W. Washington St., Poneto. Electrical panel smoking. Poneto Fire Department dispatched. Power disconnected. American Electric Power contacted.

ARRESTS

Chykera Camille Carr, 21, Muncie; driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor. Released on her own recognizance.

Roderick Lawrence Wilmont, 39, Winter Park, Fla.; non-support of a dependent child, a Level 6 felony. Bond set at $10,000. Bonded.

Wade Richard Crone, 35, Decatur; leaving the scene of a property damage accident, a Class A misdemeanor; criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor; and operating a motor vehicle without ever obtaining a driver’s license, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $6,000.
