A man from Ossian was ordered to spend the next six years in prison after he pled guilty to possessing drugs.
Zachary Andrew Osborn, 32, Ossian, pled guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony.
One count of dealing methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony, possession of methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony, possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana and a Class B misdemeanor, were all dismissed according to a plea agreement.
The charges were filed in May when an unidentified caller reported that Jerron Jackson had a warrant for his arrest. The caller advised Jackson was located at Osborn’s residence near 1100 North S.R. 1 in Ossian.
Osborn reportedly confirmed that Jackson was inside before permitting officers to enter the residence. Upon entering, officers ordered Osborn to hand over a glass pipe with white residue that he was reportedly attempting to conceal.
Multiple subjects in the residence were detained. A search of the property revealed seven glass vials, each containing a white crystal substance, a digital scale, and additional paraphernalia — all located in Osborn’s bedroom.
Police located a scanner and printer combo with one sheet of computer paper with copied 10 and five dollar bills in the living room and kitchen of the residence.
Officers located counterfeit money, additional smoking devices and a clear plastic bag containing a white crystal substance in another area of the home. Three additional subjects, along with Osborn, were arrested.
Jodi Ann Sluder, 47, Ossian, settled her case in July. Sluder was sentenced to 794 days in prison with 730 days suspended and 64 days of jail credit after she pled guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. Charges for counterfeiting money and application fraud were dismissed.
Two additional cases in connection to the arrest are still pending.
Jeremy Scot Jackson, 43, Fort Wayne, was charged with counterfeiting and application fraud and possession of methamphetamine, both Level 6 felonies, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor. Jackson is scheduled for a pretrial conference at 9 a.m. on Sept. 9 in the Wells Superior Court.
Jerron Mikel Jackson, 30, Bluffton, was located in the bathroom and arrested on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. Jackson is scheduled for a pretrial conference at 9 a.m. on Sept. 9 in the Wells Superior Court.
Osborn was recommended for purposeful incarceration, a substance abuse treatment program available in prison. If he completes the program, he may be eligible for a sentence modification.
