Solid Waste, Drainage, County Commissioners cancel Monday meetings
The Solid Waste Management District board, Wells County Drainage Board, and Wells County Commissioners have canceled their regular meetings in light of the Bluffton Free Street Fair.
The Drainage Board will meet next at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, and the commissioners will follow at 5 p.m. in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.
The Solid Waste district board will meet next at 4 p.m. Oct. 21., also in Room 105 at the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.
BHMSD school board will hold public hearings Monday
The board of the Bluffton-Harrison Metropolitan School District will meet for a public hearing at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the school district’s administration building at 803 E. Harrison St. in Bluffton.
Topics on the public hearing agenda are:
• Educational need for elementary playground improvements, middle school upper gymnasium floor improvements, high school parking lot and drive improvements, and other deferred maintenance improvement items listen on the capital projects plan.
• Overview of projects.
• Financial impact of projects.
A budget hearing will immediately follow, then the regular meeting. Topics on the agenda for the regular meeting include:
• Financial and personnel matters.
• Regular reports and announcements, including updates from Assistant Superintendent Julie Meitzler and Superintendent Brad Yates, the enrollment report, and the Bluffton Lady Tigers Holiday Shootout.
• Updates on building projects.
Rock Creek Conservancy District will meet Monday
The Rock Creek Conservancy district will hold its quarterly meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 16, at the Liberty Center Fire Department, 2954 Market St., Liberty Center.
Topics on the agenda include:
• Maintenance and water monitoring reports.
• Treasurer reports and financial matters.
Bluffton Board of Works to meet Tuesday afternoon
The Bluffton Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.
Southern Wells school board will meet Tuesday
The board of the Southern Wells Community Schools will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the high school media center of the SWCS campus.
Topics on the agenda include:
• Personnel and financial matters.
• Public hearing on 2025 budget.
• Consideration of project and bond resolutions for the construction of a new auxiliary gym.
• Discussion of the 2025-26 calendar.
• School improvement plans.
• Superintendent information.
Bluffton Common Council will not meet Tuesday
The Bluffton Common Council will not meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St., due to the Bluffton Free Street Fair.
