Slade Tonner, holding his prize book “May There Always Be Sunshine,” is pictured with his mom Kailey.
Micah Smith, holding his prize book “The Great Chicken Escape,” is pictured with his parents, Laura and Dale, and his brother, Isaac.

The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is sponsored by the United Way of Wells County, the Wells County Foundation, and the Friends of the Library. The program not only helps prepare children for school, but instills the value of reading and life-long learning.
