Participants put their engineering skills to the test in the Bluffton Parks and Recreation Department’s annual egg drop contest Wednesday afternoon. The children were given a variety of materials to create a contraption to protect an egg, then put their invention to the test by dropping it from the second story of City Hall. Above, Isaac Smith launches his egg from the second-story window. Much to everyone’s excitement, many of the eggs survived through the journey. Below, Maci Williams untangles her egg from its packaging following the drop, and right that, Aaron Smith celebrates with his intact egg. (Photos by Holly Gaskill)
