Cassandra Rosene, the director of business development for Stillwater Hospice (formerly known as Visiting Nurse), will be the speaker for the Ossian Rotary Club’s meeting Thursday morning, June 22.
Rosene has worked in hospice and home health for nine years and was in long-term care for five years before that. “My heart is truly in helping the aging population, but I also enjoy just helping anyone I can!,” she said.
She works with hospitals, doctors’ offices, long-term care communities, and others to help patients transition to the best level of care. She also works to educate northeast Indiana residents on future planning, such as advanced directives, insurance benefits, and general desired care conversations.
Since 1888, Stillwater Hospice has served families with a comprehensive suite of compassion services — from hospice care to palliative care and grief support. And while the agency’s services have evolved and grown in the last 130 years, the driving purpose continues to be to deliver the most compassionate care to those served. Their goal is that, in everything they do, to “lead with love.”
Stillwater Hospice is a non-profit community-based operation, serving 12 counties in northeast Indiana — Adams, Allen, Blackford, DeKalb, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, Noble, Wabash, Wells, and Whitley. Stillwater Hospice also serves patients in the only free-standing hospice home in Northeast Indiana, located off Homestead Road near Fort Wayne.
Rotary’s weekly Thursday meetings are at 7:30 a.m. at Ossian Baptist Church, 1001 Dehner Drive in Ossian.
Next Thursday’s Ossian Rotary program will feature outgoing president Jeff Keplar’s recap of the past year’s activities for Ossian Rotary, as well as a look into the club’s future.
Ossian Rotary is a small part of a larger organization, Rotary International, which was founded over 110 years ago in Chicago. Ossian Rotary is a group of people with a desire to meet new people, network, get involved and make a difference in Ossian and other communities. Each week features different speakers, who help attendees stay informed on topics that are relevant to our community. Anyone is welcome to attend.
