Jane L. Bradley, 76 of Berne, and a longtime resident of Bluffton, passed away on Monday afternoon, April 17, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1946, in Bluffton to Mick & Marjorie (Crum) Ludwig and graduated from Bluffton High School with the class of 1965.
Jane’s first job was working in the family’s store, Ludwigs Grocery Store in Bluffton. She also worked in the City of Bluffton Utilities Office, and as an administrative assistant for the Division of Child Services and retired from the Wells County Auditor’s Office. In her retirement, Jane served as a volunteer secretary for Etna Avenue Wesleyan Church in Huntington, where her husband was a pastor.
On March 19, 1972, Jane and Charles Thomas “Tom” Bradley were married.
Jane will always be remembered for holiday gatherings, cooking for family, baking Christmas Amish cookies, along with serving her homemade mayonnaise cake with caramel icing. She enjoyed sending cards, visiting the state park, and bird watching. She is remembered for having a servant’s heart, being a prayer warrior, and above all else found joy in being a helpmate to her best friend, Tom. She showed love in a million small & meaningful ways.
Jane was a supportive pastor’s wife to her husband during funerals, weddings, and public speaking engagements. Tom and Jane were a ministry team that showed the love of our Lord to anyone around!
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tom Bradley of Berne along with children; Chad (Nikia) Bradley of Keystone, Heather (Marc) Ulrich of Merrillville and Lisa (Stephen) Roose of Markle.
Jane was a loving grandma to 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The loss of her presence is already profoundly felt. The family appreciates the community’s prayers and encouragement!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mick & Marjorie Ludwig; a son, David Bradley; and a sister, Jeanie (Ludwig) Mock.
Funeral Services for Jane will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Sonlight Wesleyan Church with Pastor Jody Mounsey and her-son-in-law, Pastor Marc Ulrich officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of the Chimes at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton and for one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
