Those attending the Ouabache State Park Lunch & Learn session April 13 were told about how to create a welcoming environment for butterflies to come to their gardens by Kate Sanders, a resource specialist from the Indiana Department of Agriculture. Private yards, she explained, are the connectors to larger areas, such as parks, that offer the water, shelter and food that butterflies require to thrive. The next Lunch & Learn at Ouabache will be held Thursday, May 11, when the topic will be “Fungus Among Us.” The presenter for that program will be  the park’s naturalist, Rose Nevil.
