Wednesday, 3:58 p.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Store security personnel turned over to police surveillance video and other evidence of a customer stealing from the store.
Wednesday, 5:31 p.m., Main Street at Willowbrook Trail. Officer pulled over a vehicle after receiving a report that someone was waving a gun around inside the vehicle. Officer discovered the occupants of the vehicle were juveniles and the gun they were supposedly waving around was actually an Airsoft gun. The officer explained the dangers of waving a realistic gun around in a vehicle. The driver was warned for the children not being in seat belts.
Wednesday, 11:25 p.m., Main Street at Monroe Street. Deputy pulled over a Chevrolet Tahoe for not having a license plate and ended up arresting the driver — who was not identified in the report — on a warrant out of Noble County for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Thursday, 1:48 a.m., 300N east of Ind. 116. While on patrol, a sheriff’s deputy spotted a Dodge Caravan parked alongside the road that had its hazard flashers on. The deputy pulled in behind the van and asked the driver, identified as Randi Renee Suarez, 33, Bluffton, if everything was OK. Suarez reportedly replied that she had pulled off to the side of the road to change her music. The deputy observed that Suarez appeared intoxicated. He had Suarez take a portable Breathalyzer test and it reportedly showed her alcohol concentration equivalency to be .165 percent. Suarez also allegedly failed field sobriety tests. After she was detained, her van was searched by another sheriff’s deputy who reportedly found a “dugout” — a wooden device that is used to ingest a small portion of marijuana — Muha Meds Strawberry THC-infused gummy candy and a brown cigar paper wrapper that contained a green plant-like material with the odor and appearance of marijuana. Suarez was charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond set at $2,000.
Thursday, 9:23 a.m. residence on 400N east of 200E. Caller reported someone dumped an old snowmobile on a neighboring property sometime last November and the snowmobile has been sitting where it was left all winter.
Thursday, 9:28 a.m., residence on East Market Street in Vera Cruz. Caller reported someone damaged a pipe on the property a year ago.
Ossian:
Tuesday, 7:18 a.m., Maplewood Drive at Homestead Avenue. Report of a man walking in only a bathrobe in the street. Ossian officer checked the area but saw no one matching the description given by the caller.
Tuesday, 8:32 a.m., 1050N at 500E. Report of the driver of a garbage truck slumped over the steering wheel. Ossian police officer located the truck. The driver informed the officer she was on her break.
Tuesday, 11:56 a.m., Ind. 1 south of 1100N. Ossian police officer received a report that a driver with a suspended driver’s license was driving through Ossian. The officer got behind a vehicle matching the description and ended up pulling the Pontiac passenger car over on Ind. 1 south of 1100N. The officer performed a license check on the driver, Alfredo V. Mendez, Silo Farms, and discovered that the status of Mendez’s license was unavailable. He cited Mendez into Bluffton City Court for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
Wednesday, 4:02 p.m., Hillcrest U-Store, 1700 Hillcrest Drive. Someone stole a storage trailer containing tools and other items belonging to a customer of the storage facility.
Wednesday, 6:58 p.m., residence in the 200 block of Davis Road. Officer and sheriff’s deputy served a warrant for arrest on Sara Anne Engle, 35, Ossian, on one count of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $25,000.
ACCIDENTS
City:
Wednesday, 4:05 p.m., Main Street at Premier Avenue. Korinna J. Schindler, 24, rural Bluffton, was driving south on Main Street in a 2017 Honda Civic when a vehicle ahead of her only got partially in the turn lane before suddenly coming to a stop to wait for oncoming traffic to clear to make a left turn. That caused Schindler to have to come to a sudden stop. Michelle S. Alcon, 55, rural Yoder, was driving a 2016 Honda CRV south on Main Street and managed to successfully get stopped behind Schindler only to be struck from behind by a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Carol J. Scott, 85, Bluffton. Scott could not react in time to the sudden stop in the flow of traffic. All three drivers suffered minor injuries but no one sought transport to the hospital. Damage exceeded $5,000.
FIRE RUNS
Thursday, 12:10 a.m., Snider Fleet Solutions, 1400 W. Wiley Avenue. Semi trailer on fire at the rear of the building. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Factory personnel were able to put out the fire before firefighters arrived. The trailer was still smoldering and firefighters made sure the fire was out completely.
Thursday, 7:26 a.m., Utz Quality Foods, 1955 Lancaster Street. Fire alarm. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. Alarm was being worked on by the alarm company.
ARRESTS
Rhianna Stephen Lothamer, 26, Bluffton; probation violation. No bond set.
Jelon Rahnez Perry, 24, Anderson; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor. Released on his own recognizance.
