Marvin E. Hartman, 90, of Warren, passed away at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023, at I.U. Health Blackford Hospital in Hartford City, Ind.

He was born on Thursday, Oct. 27, 1932, in Portland, Ind. He married Nina Marie (Coleman) Hartman on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 1951, in Jay County. Marvin attended Pennville High School. He spent his early years in the Pennville area. He retired from DANA Corp. after 38 years of service. Marvin enjoyed gardening, tinkering with his old case tractor, being outdoors, shooting guns, and above all, spending time with his family and grandchildren. 

He will be sadly missed by his children, David D. (Kathy) Hartman of Camby, Ind., Larry G. (Sheryl) Hartman of Poneto, Aaron Hartman of Warren, and Debra Bowen of Van Buren; siblings, Eva Coleman, Thurl Hartman and John Hartman of Traverse City, Mich., and Lowell Hartman of Berne; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Marie (Coleman) Hartman, parents, Ralph Hartman and Violet (Ziegler) Hartman; and siblings, Dewayne Hartman, Raymond Hartman, Karen Matney, Dean Hartman and Charles Hartman.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023 at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St. in Montpelier. 

A service to celebrate Marvin’s life will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023 at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
