City:

Tuesday, 5:41 p.m., sheriff’s deputy pulled over a 2006 Buick on Johnson Street at Walnut Street after reportedly witnessing it fail to signal a turn from Williams Street onto Market Street. The driver, identified as Zachary Marshal Bowlin, 37, Bluffton, had a suspended driver’s license with an eligibility for renewal not until Dec. 31, 2024. The deputy cited Bowlin for driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor, and failure to signal turn, a Class C infraction. He was released on his own recognizance.

Tuesday, 7:02 p.m., Ind. 124 at Elm Grove Road. Report that someone driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser drove off the road and down into a creek. Officer arrived about five minutes after the call and did not see any vehicles in the creek.

Tuesday, 7:10 p.m., Bluffton Wastewater Treatment plant. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.

Wednesday, 1:54 a.m., Bluffton police officer pulled over a vehicle in the parking lot of the Wabash Street Pak-A-Sak convenience store and arrested Trevin Nicholas Mitchell, 30, Bluffton, on one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $1,500. Allegedly Mitchell’s alcohol concentration equivalency was .107 percent at the time of his arrest according to the results of a Breathalyzer test. A Sotoxa test also allegedly tested positive for the presence of marijuana in Mitchell’s saliva.

Wednesday, 6:53 a.m., Bond Street at Market Street. Bluffton police officer pulled over a vehicle and arrested the driver, Tammara Sue Slater, 44, Bluffton, on charges of possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor; and driving while suspended with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor. She was released on her own recognizance.

Wednesday, 12:14 p.m., Antique Engine Rebuilding, 610 W. Washington St. Ongoing problems of people using the business’ gravel parking lot to spin their vehicles in circles for entertainment.

Tuesday, 3:52 p.m., Main Street at Dustman Road. A 2010 Chevrolet HHR, driven by Triston T. Miller, 23, rural Ossian, struck the back of a 2021 GMC Yukon sport utility vehicle driven by Amy M. Johnson, 45, Bluffton, as the Yukon was stopped for a red light at the intersection. Damage exceeded $1,000.

Wednesday, 7:35 a.m., Ind. 3 south of 1100S. Kimberly M. Overbey, 41, rural Van Buren, hit a deer with her Pontiac E6. Damage to the car exceeded $1,000.

Tuesday, 5:13 p.m., Bruce and Sarah Jackson residence, 0585E-300N. Carbon monoxide detector alarm sounding. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. No carbon monoxide found in the residence.

Wednesday, 11:19 a.m., ADM Alliance Nutrition, 1800 W. Western Ave. Fire alarm. Bluffton Fire Department dispatched. No fire. Source of the alarm traced to a faulty smoke head in the elevator at the plant.
