Friday, 3:14 p.m., residence in the 100 block of West Central Avenue. Caller reported finding a discarded bottle of a prescription medication in his yard. Officer dispatched and disposed of the bottle of pills.

Friday, 5:50 p.m., residence in the 500 block of Westfield Drive, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Officer requested to remove an unwanted man from the residence.

Friday, 5:58 p.m., Kendall Electric, 227 W. Wabash St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. Employee accidentally triggered the alarm.

Friday, 6:41 p.m., Hardees restaurant. Officer requested to issue a trespass warning to a person who possibly had sexually assaulted an employee earlier in the day.

Friday, 8:36 p.m., residence in the 1100 block of South Jersey Street. Officers responded to a report of an altercation between a husband and wife. Situation calmed. Information taken for a report.

Saturday, 2:19 a.m., Praxis substance abuse treatment facility, 1529 W. Lancaster St. Report that a male patient had taken unknown amount of pills and not feeling well. Officers Bluffton Fire Department first responders and Wells County EMS dispatched.

Saturday, 2:56 p.m., residence in the 600 block of Beth Avenue. Caller reported a female acquaintance was attempting to break into his home. Officers responded. Wista Annette Fornwalt, 48, Bluffton; residential entry, a Level 6 felony, and invasion of privacy, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $30,000.

Saturday, 5:40 a.m., residence in the 200 block of North Baldwin Street. Officers, Bluffton Fire Department first responders and Wells County EMS dispatched on a report of a 63-year-old man found lying outside and had possibly been outside overnight. The man was transported to Lutheran Hospital.

Saturday, 11:47 a.m., Marion Street at Wiley Avenue. Siberian husky dog struck and killed by a vehicle that then left the scene.

Saturday, 2:58 p.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Report of a man in a hospital gown asleep in the men’s restroom. The man reportedly was difficult to wake up and keep awake. Officers, Bluffton Fire Department first responders and Wells County EMS dispatched.

Saturday, 5:19 p.m., Citgo convenience store at 1730 N. Main St. Report of a man in the store threatening to harm himself. Officers and Wells County EMS dispatched. The man was transported to Parkview Behavioral Health.

Saturday, 11:07 p.m., residence in the 1200 block of West Central Avenue. Report of suspicious noises on the front porch of the residence. Officers responded. Nothing was on the front porch when they arrived.

Saturday, 11:26 p.m., residence in the 700 block of West Wiley Avenue. Officers responded to a report of an underage drinking party.

Monday, 4:04 p.m., McDonald’s restaurant, 984 N. Main St. Homeless man left property behind at the restaurant.

Tuesday, 12:24 a.m., 100 block of East Arnold Street. Caller reported someone banging on the door of the residence four or five different times in the past hour and then running away.

Tuesday, 1:26 a.m., White Bridge pulloff area. Officer checked a man in a vehicle parked at the pulloff. He had reportedly earlier made comments of self-harm but told the officer he had no thoughts of harming himself.

Tuesday, 8:53 a.m., residence in the 800 block of Cedar Road, Bluffton Woods mobile home park. Report of a group of juvenile girls at a mobile home banging on the side of the mobile home wanting an 11-year-old girl to come out and fight. Officers responded and located the group at the nearby Airplane convenience store. All eight girls were warned for trespassing at the mobile home.

Sunday, 2:45 p.m., 700 block of North Main Street. Rubber wheel part creating a traffic hazard.

Sunday, 9:44 p.m., Wells County Lockup, 225 E. Harrison Road. Report of a full-size pickup truck driving around the storage buildings over and over again without stopping at any of them. Officer dispatched and checked the buildings but did not see a vehicle matching the description not anything suspicious happening.

Friday, 2:47 p.m., rural Bluffton caller reported she received a call from a male acquaintance threatening her life.

Sunday, 12:22 a.m., Silo Farms, 11080N-Ind. 1. Report of an altercation between a husband and wife begun after Ohio State lost to Georgia in the FBS college football championship semi-final. Officers responded. Wife reportedly did not wish to pursue the matter further.

Sunday, 11:55 a.m., 1000S near 200W. Donkey running on the road. Sheriff’s deputy dispatched. Owner located and the owner took the donkey back to its pen.

Sunday, 4:34 p.m., residence on 400W south of 200S. Sheriff’s deputy assisted a homeowner with removing a red-tail hawk from her chicken pen.

Sunday, 10:08 p.m., residence on 900N east of 500E. Report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the road. Sheriff’s responded and located four teenage males TP’ing a residence. All four were told to clean up the mess.

Monday, 4:37 a.m., residence on 1100S east of 200E. Report of an intoxicated woman out of control, wielding a knife. Sheriff’s deputies responded. Situation calmed.

Monday, 2:22 p.m., Apostolic Christian Church, 1970S-800E. Burglar alarm. Sheriff’s deputies responded. No sign of foul play found.

Monday, 7:08 p.m., Ind. 1 at 300S. While on patrol, a sheriff’s deputy encountered a man who was trying to hitch a ride. The deputy noted in a brief report that the man had been a patient at the Praxis substance abuse treatment facility in Bluffton, had walked away from the facility, and was now trying to hitchhike his way back to Indianapolis. The deputy gave the man a ride as far south at the Wells/Jay county line.

Tuesday, 3:22 a.m., Adams Street at Cherry Street. Sheriff’s deputy helped a semi driver trying to find the Peyton’s Northern food distribution warehouse after the GPS in the truck told the driver Peyton’s was at Cherry and Adams.

 Ossian:

Thursday, 8:09 p.m., residence in the 400 block of Sandalwood Drive. One-year-old girl bitten on her face by her mother’s dog. Officer and Wells County EMS responded. Mother decided to seek medical attention for the girl at Lutheran Hospital.

Saturday, 1:07 p.m., Settler’s Trace, Ossian. Woman threatening self-harm. Officers responded.

Sunday, 12:44 p.m., LaFever Street at Jefferson Street. While observing traffic on Jefferson Street, an Ossian police officer witnessed a vehicle pull out onto Jefferson Street into the path of a northbound vehicle on Jefferson, causing that vehicle’s driver to have to brake sharply. The officer followed the vehicle and pulled it over on LaFever. The driver, identified as Garrett Arthur Ritchie, 25, Ossian, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a motor vehicle after having been found to be an habitual traffic violator, a Level 6 felony; and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Level 6 felony; operating a motor vehicle with an expired license plate, a Class C infraction; and operating a motor vehicle with false and/or fictitious registration, a Class C infraction. Bond set at $13,000. A certified breath test conducted at the Wells County Jail reportedly showed Ritchie’s alcohol concentration equivalency to be .248 percent, or more than three times Indiana’s legal limit for intoxication of .08 percent.

Tuesday, 9:16 a.m., residence in the 300 block of West LaFever Street. Man threatening self-harm. Officers responded.

ACCIDENTS

City:

Saturday, 6:30 a.m., loading dock at Peyton’s Northern, 1111 S. Adams St. Michael D. Hicks, 62, Chicago, Ill., backed a 2016 KZ-RV Connect semi tractor with a trailer registered to Black Dog Express, Chicago, into a parked 2023 Freightliner Cascadia, registered to Spider Logistics, Markham, Ill. Damage exceeded $5,000.

Saturday, 7:21 p.m., Lisa A. Dennis, 59, Bluffton, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Trax south on Main Street when she drove off the right side of the roadway and hit a utility pole with the passenger side of the vehicle. She then continued to drive through the easement on the west side of the road where she ran over a pedestrian crossing sign. Dennis continued driving southbound — dragging the sign with her — until she came to a stop in the parking lot of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1300 N. Main St. She removed the sign from under her Trax and left it behind in the parking lot of the church. She then continued southbound on Main Street to the parking lot of Save-On Liquor, 605 N. Main St., where she left her Trax behind because it wouldn’t run any longer. She called a friend and had the friend take her home. She then reportedly waited to call police. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Total damage exceeded $10,000.

Friday, 4:44 a.m., Ind. 124 east of 600W. Samantha M. Rigby, 21, rural Bluffton, was driving east on Ind. 124 when she swerved to avoid a rabbit, drove a 2004 Ford F-150 pickup truck off the road and down into a deep ditch. No one was injured. Damage exceeded $10,000.

Tuesday, 12:10 a.m., 1100N west of Meridian Road. Jupe A. Schwartz, 17, Uniondale, hit a deer with a 2015 Honda Accord.

Tuesday, 6:53 a.m., Ind. 124 west of 200W. Jeffrey L. Reynolds, 62, rural Warren, hit a deer with a 2021 Freightliner M2 Suburban propane delivery truck. Damage exceeded $1,000.

Tuesday, 12:23 p.m., U.S. 224 at Railroad Street in Uniondale. Trista Lamprecht, 20, Bluffton, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze westbound on U.S. 224 when the vehicle continued straight west on the curve around Uniondale, plowed over the stop sign at Railroad Street and slammed into a trencher at Bolinger Excavating, 708 W. Railroad St., Uniondale. Lamprecht suffered head trauma in the crash and was trapped in the vehicle. Markle and Ossian fire rescue units and Uniondale Fire Department first responders along with Wells County EMS, sheriff’s deputies and Markle police responded. It took about 20 minutes for firefighters to extricate Lamprecht from the vehicle. She was transported to Lutheran Hospital. The Cruze was demolished in the crash

Friday, 7:46 p.m., Chester Township Fire Department requested for tanker mutual aid for the Montpelier Fire Department for a structure fire at 4289E-300N, Hartford City.

Dustin Michael-Dean Neal, 35, Fort Wayne; invasion of privacy, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $25,000.

Raigan Ilene Harkinson, 22, rural Montpelier; criminal trespass, a Class A misdemeanor; theft, a Class A misdemeanor; and forgery, a Level 6 felony. Bond set at $3,000. Bonded.

Tyler Michael Anthony Glenn Boyd, 27, Bluffton; failure of a sex offender to possess identification or a driver’s license and sex offender registration violation, a Level 6 felony. Bond set at $10,000.

Levi Dean Bauer, 41, Bluffton; domestic battery with a prior conviction for the same offense, a Level 5 felony. Bond set at $10,000.
