Helen Irene Buckingham, 99, of Berne, Ind., passed away on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023 at Swiss Village in Berne.
She was born on Friday, April 13, 1923, in Berne. She married Clarence E. “Ittle” Buckingham on Sunday, Oct. 22, 1944.
She is survived by her children, John (Susan) Buckingham, James (Carol) Buckingham; three grandchildren; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Gaskill.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Noah Sprunger and Amelia (Badertscher) Sprunger; and siblings, Roger Sprunger, Katherine Sprunger, Adrian Sprunger and Stanley Sprunger.
Family and friends may gather from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023 at Downing and Glancy Funeral Home. A service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jim Schwartz and Pastor Jeff Gaskill officiating. Interment will take place afterward at Riverside Cemetery in Geneva.
