Blanche A. Perry, 88, of Montpelier, passed away Friday afternoon, Jan. 13, 2023, at her residence, following an extended illness.

Blanche was born in Bluefield, W. Va., on March 3, 1934, to Claude R. and Rosa Ellen (Lindamood) Arnold, both parents preceded her in death. Blanche married Harold A. Perry in Bluffton on June 21, 1969, he preceded her in death on June 7, 2011.

She graduated in 1952 from Marion H.S. in Marion, Va. Blanche worked for Franklin Electric for 37 years, retiring in 2000. Blanche attended Sonlight Wesleyan Church in Bluffton for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, collecting dolls, refinishing and collecting antique furniture, she had a love for all animals, and spending time with her family, most of all, she enjoyed reading her bible.

Blanche is survived by two daughters; Jessica (Harold) James of Ossian, and Jackie (Mike) Young of Roanoke, two sons; Jeffrey Newman of Poneto, and Jerome (Melissa) Newman of Montpelier.

22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters; Rose Dean and June (Jack) Widner, both of Rural Retreat, W. Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, one son; Jason Newman, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters, and five brothers.

 Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, followed immediately by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Clarence Baker will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Bluffton.
