Kim D. Banas, 64, of Bluffton, passed away early Thursday morning, Dec. 8, 2022, at her residence.

Kim was born on Nov. 12, 1958 in Fort Wayne to Troy M. and Iona M. (Dawson) Smith. She graduated from Norwell High School in 1977.  Kim and Robert J. Banas Jr. were married on Oct. 13, 1987 in Bluffton.

Kim was a homemaker who loved to craft, making many homemade cards. She was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. She attended Harvest Time Bible Church. She had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a good joke. Most of all, Kim had a beautiful heart and loved her family.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Rob of Bluffton; a son, Matthew R. Banas of Bluffton; a granddaughter, Avery Banas of Morristown, Ind., and a brother, Rodney “Gene” Smith of Fort Wayne. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Sharon Meli, John Smith, Sara Smith and Sue Newton.
