INCIDENTS

City:

Friday, 4:10 p.m., Lancaster Street and South Adams Street,. Tractor trailer with a broken front axel blocking traffic from Ind. 124. Driver advised a tow truck was on its way.

Friday, 5:39 p.m., West Wabash Street at North Johnson Street. Report of six kids throwing street cones at the buildings and causing a traffic hazard. Group was located and all denied throwing cones.

Friday, 6:04 p.m., residence on Lakeside Drive. Report of gunshot sounds, totalling 20 or more. Deputy was unable to locate the source. 

Saturday, 1:37 a.m., 1500 Stogdill Road. In regular traffic stop, deputy determined driver to be intoxicated. Marijuana was also located in the vehicle. Holdan Walker Eisman, 19, Bluffton, was arrested for possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage, a Class C misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 or higher, a Class C misdemeanor. 

Saturday, 10:24 a.m., residence on 638 Westfield Drive. Verbal dispute between a man and a woman.

Saturday, 10:33 a.m., residence on East Spring Street. Report of a woman walking around the building with a van parked out front. Officer located and spoke with the woman, who was searching for a missing phone that was pinging in the area.

Saturday, 1:57 p.m., Walmart Supercenter. Caller reported drugs found in the bathroom.

Saturday, 2:26 p.m., residence on 250N. Unwanted party at residence. 

Saturday, 3:31 p.m., residence on Pine Grove Court. Caller reported neighbor was violating protective order.

Saturday, 4:08 p.m., residence on Capri Court. Caller reported neighbor is playing loud music. Officer talked to resident and advised of the local noise ordinance.

Saturday, 5:22 p.m., residence on Pine Grove Court. Two callers complaining of a loud party with juveniles. Officers located the group and warned them to keep the volume down or citations would be issued.

Saturday, 6:49 p.m., Washington Park. 10 juveniles jumping on the table. Officer spoke to the juveniles. 

Saturday, 6:53 p.m., Hampshire Court Apartments. Abandoned car in the roadway. Vehicle towed. 

Saturday, 9:59 p.m., residence on Goldenrod Court. Domestic dispute between a man and a woman. Parties advised they would remain separate for the night and did not want to press charges. 

Saturday, 10:35 p.m., residence on Goldenrod Court. Report of screaming in the area. Deputy located juveniles yelling in a field in front of their house, who said they were just exploring and everything was fine.

Saturday, 11:10 p.m., residence on West Wabash Street. Physical altercation between a man and a woman. Report to follow.

Sunday, 12:41 a.m., Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Possible sexual abuse of a minor. Juvenile released to Adams County Department of Child Services. 

Sunday, 4:59 p.m., Moose Lodge. Intoxicated individual fighting people, begging and begging for money. Officers responded and the woman resisted officers, kicking at them. Diana Katherine Humphrey, 38, Indianapolis, was arrested for criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor. 

Sunday, 6:20 p.m., North Main Street at East Dustman Road. Report of a burning tree that was cut down prior in the day. Officers located the burning and explained the local ordinance to the owner.

Sunday, 8:23 p.m., Valley Park Apartments. Apparent overdose. Two doses of Narcan and CPR administered. 

Monday, 3:05 a.m., AT&T. Officer discovered open door at the store. Deputy from Wells County Sheriff’s Officer assisted in clearing and securing the building. 

Monday, 4:39 a.m., residence on Ridgewood Lane. Report of man tripping on acid, screaming and running through the neighborhood in only his boxers. Subject detained.

Monday, 11:11 a.m., residence on Clark Avenue. Report of a man using the bathroom in a parking lot.

County:

Friday, 4:10 p.m., 11451W on 800S, Warren. Vehicle’s windshield struck by a rock from a passing car going the opposite direction. Parties settled the issue on scene.

Saturday, 11:06 p.m., North Main Street at West Hancock Street, Uniondale. Caller reported large party where fireworks were being set off. Deputy advised caller that there is no noise ordinance for the county and spoke with individuals responsible, who said that they would stop. 

Sunday, 3:10 p.m., Ind. 1 at Ind. 218. Dog running around just north of the intersection. Owner collected animal before officer arrived.

Sunday, 11:51 p.m., residence on US 224, Uniondale. Older man requesting help removing a bat. Deputy assisted in capturing and releasing the bat. 

Ossian:

Sunday, 10:37 a.m., residence on Ind. 1, Ossian. Dispute between neighbors about the disposal of cat litter, which was drifting between the yards. Dispute ended with one neighbor had striking the other with a leaf blower. Caller said she did not want to press charges, but wanted the neighbors to stop harassing her. Deputy spoke with the neighbors, who said the incident had been an accident and misunderstanding. Deputy advised either party to stick to their own property and to dispose of the litter properly.

ACCIDENTS

City:

Friday, 12:30 p.m., West Market Street at North Marion Street. An unidentified woman returned to her parked 2013 Cadillac Escalade to find a note from a woman stating she backed into the vehicle with her 2022 Honda Odyssey. The responding officer contacted the woman, Sarah M. Bluhm, 46, Bluffton, through the provided information. Damage did not exceed $1,000.

Friday, 8:09 p.m., 941 N Main Street. Jordan Gonzalez, 25, Linn Grove, Ind., was backing a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado out of the Little Caesar’s parking lot and failed to see a 2018 Nissan Versa driven by Fernando Santiago, 40, Bluffton, passing behind him. Damage exceeded $2,500. 

Saturday, 4:40 p.m., County Road South 200W at the intersection of West 100S. Frank Herbert, 80, Liberty Center was in a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado traveling westbound on 100S and attempted to turn around on the road after realizing he missed his turn. Herbert began backing up east on the road, and as he was doing so, his vehicle was struck by a 2012 Volkswagen Golf driven by Robert D. Price, 31, Liberty Center. Damage exceeded $10,000. 

Saturday, 7:09 p.m., County Road East 300N. Efrain H. Angulo Bravo, 49, Huntington, Ind., was in a 2011 Buick Lucerne traveling eastbound when a dear entered the roadway and he was unable to avoid collision. Damage exceeded $5,000. 

Sunday, 7:39 a.m., Ind. 1. Jill Martin, 63, Ossian was in a 2013 Toyota RAV4 traveling southbound when a deer attempted to cross the roadway. Martin was unable to avoid collision with the deer. Damage exceeded $2,500. 

Sunday, 2:45 p.m., West Wiley Avenue near South Marion Street. Kathryne Foster, 45, Bluffton, was backing up a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier to park and struck a 1963 Oldsmobile 885. Damage exceeded $1,000.

County:

Friday, 8:20 p.m., Ind. 116 at North 300W, Uniondale. Kimberly M. Harper, 44, St. Andrews, Ind., was traveling northwest on Ind. 116 in a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse and struck a deer in the roadway. Damage exceeded $5,000. 

Monday, 4:35 a.m., Ind. 3 at Willow Road, McNatts. Robert J. Carmicle, 33, Hartford City, Ind., was traveling southbound on Ind. 3 in a 2017 GMC Yukon XL when a small pick-up truck traveling westbound crossed the center line, causing Carmicle to swerve away and hit the guardrail, traveling down the riverbank and crashing into the Salamonie River. The pick-up truck did not stop. Carmicle was unable to drive out of the riverbank and the vehicle was towed by Pemberton’s Towing. Damage exceeded $5,000.

Monday, 7:23 a.m., North Mazarne Road, Zanesville. Kevin L. Cart, 50, Markle, was traveling southwest on Marzane Road in a 2016 Honda Civic when a deer entered the roadway and Cart was unable to avoid collision. The deer was unable to be located at the scene. Damage exceeded $2,500.

FIRES

Friday, 9:01 p.m., 3521W at 300W. Truck on fire from leaking fuel. Liberty Township Fire Department responded. Fire under control at 9:14 p.m.

Saturday, 3:37 p.m., 3257E 900S, Poneto. Grass fire. Poneto Department and Nottingham Township Fire Departments responded. Fire under control at 4:26 p.m.

ARRESTS

Juan Perez Gutierrez, 30, Bluffton; operating a vehicle with an blood alcohol level of 0.15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $3,000. 

Tami Sue Halopoff, 52, Fort Wayne; operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond not set.
