Cynthia “Cindy” A. Harnish, 63, of Bluffton, passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 16, 2022, at Envive Healthcare in Berne, after an extended illness.

Cindy was born in Bluffton on Apr. 2. 1959, to Keith and Marilyn (Brown) Meade. Both parents preceded her in death.

A 1977 graduate of Southern Wells High School, Cindy went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in psychology and addictions counseling from Indiana Wesleyan. She later obtained her master’s degree in library science from Indiana University. She worked at the Wells County Public Library, and beginning in 2000 served as the office manager and co-owner/operator of Wells County Lock-Up self-storage facility in Bluffton.

At Wells County Lock-Up, Cindy was a diligent office manager and an excellent bookkeeper. She enjoyed working with customers and loved serving her community through her work. She was an avid reader and loved animals, especially horses. She even owned her own horse for many years. More than anything else, Cindy was a devoted mother, not only to her son Brandon, but to many of his friends and other family members as well.

Survivors include a son, Brandon (Heather) Harnish of Bluffton; a sister, Sheryl Meade of Bluffton; two nephews, Brian Wafford and Kevin Wafford, both of Bluffton; and two great-nephews, Trey Collins and Kayden Wafford.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, followed immediately by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Marc Dodrill will officiate. Burial will follow at Horeb Cemetery in Uniondale.
