INCIDENTS

City:

Wednesday, 3:14 p.m., Bluffton High School, 1 Tiger Trail. Someone left behind a bedroll with several knives in it next to a bench. The bedroll had been in the location for several days. Officer collected the item to dispose of it.

Wednesday, 8:38 p.m., 24/7 Cars, 633 N. Main St. Burglar alarm. Officers responded. No sign of foul play found.

Wednesday, 10:50 p.m., residence in the 700 block of Clark Avenue. Officers requested on a report of a man in the residence arguing with family members of a woman who had just died while in hospice care at the residence. Situation calmed. 

Thursday, 2:58 a.m., apartment in the Pine Grove apartment complex. Officers responded to a report of a loud verbal altercation between a man and a woman. Situation calmed. Both parties warned for disorderly conduct. Parties separated.

Thursday, 7:01 a.m., Harrison Road near Wayne Street. Car hit a and killed a small deer. There was minor damage to the car and the registered owner did not request an accident report.

Thursday, 8:38 a.m., Harris Material Exchange, 601 S. Bond St. Officers, Bluffton Fire Department First responders and Wells County EMS dispatched on a report that a semi driver had taken a tumble while trying to exit his semi and was now suffering from back and neck pain.

Thursday, 9 a.m., 400 block of East Hall Street. Someone broke into a railroad locomotive belonging to the Wabash Central Railroad and destroyed the interior of the cab of the locomotive so that the locomotive could not be used.

Thursday, 9:24 a.m., residence in the 1300 block of Manor Drive. Caller reported fraud.

Thursday, 11:01 a.m., Milli’s restaurant, 1070 N. Main St. Report that a patient who had left the Praxis substance abuse treatment facility on West Lancaster Street the prior day was now at the restaurant begging customers for money. Officers responded. Information filed for a report.

Ossian:

Wednesday, 12:35 p.m., Ossian All American Deli. Ossian police officer responded to a report that a man who had previously been warned not to come back to the Ossian Deli or he would be arrested for criminal trespassing, was reportedly inside the convenience store buying a fountain drink. The officer noticed Robert D. Bodenheimer, 42, Bluffton, seated on a bench outside of the front door of the business. The officer went inside to speak with the manager and when she came back outside, she reportedly noticed Bodenheimer walking south on Jefferson Street. She and a second Ossian officer spoke with Bodenheimer near the Roe Street intersection and placed him under arrest for criminal trespass, a Class A misdemeanor. His bond was set at $1,500.

ARRESTS

Ashlee Rene Marie Crews, 30, Marion; failure to appear in court, a Class C misdemeanor. No bond set.

Robert DeWayne Connett, 47, Bluffton; probation violation. No bond set.

Shawn E. Hood, 52, rural Keystone; domestic battery of a person less than 14 years old, a Class A misdemeanor; criminal confinement, a Level 5 felony; and rape, a Level 3 felony. Bond set at $55,000.

Carlos Edward Slater, 44, Bluffton; unlawful possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of methamphetamine, both Level 6 felonies. Bond set at $60,000.
