Beneranda L. “Bennie” Bales Brenner, 82, of Montpelier, Ind., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center in Bluffton.
She was born on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1940, in Kendallville, Ind. She married Charles Bales on Aug. 2, 1969.
She is survived by her children: Barbara (Ken) Schomber of Keystone, Ind.; Bernadette (Gary) Elkins of Montpelier, Ind.; Brandi (Shane) Reynolds of Hartford City, Ind.; brother Alden Schlotter of Avon Park, Fla.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Victor Hugo Schlotter and Berdena Belle (Good) Schlotter; her first husband Charles L. Bales; her second husband John F. Brenner Sr.; brother Larry Schlotter; and grandson Bryceon Schomber.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022, and 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W Windsor St. Montpelier.
A service to celebrate Bennie’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2022, at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home with Father Kevin Hurley officiating. Entombment will follow at the Bales family mausoleum at the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
