Damon Bleau Marquart, 18, Bluffton, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana with a prior conviction for the same or a similar offense, a Class A misdemeanor.

Sentenced to a year in the Wells County Jail with the term of the sentence to be served consecutively with any sentence meted in a case in Wells Circuit Court where Marquart is charged with violating probation from an April 19 sentencing for possession of a Schedule I, II, III, of IV controlled substance, a Level 6 felony.

Placed on probation for one year.

Ordered to pay court costs and probation fees.

Marquart was on probation from his Circuit Court case May 24 when the probation department requested that Bluffton police search his apartment for illegal substances.

During the course of the search, an officer reportedly located a “smell-proof” bag in a pocket of a coat Marquart owned. When the officer asked Marquart about the bag, he reportedly admitted that it was his. The officer found a lighter, a vaping pen and a small amount of marijuana crumbs inside the bag.
