INCIDENTS

City:

Tuesday, 4:20 p.m., residence in the 900 block of South Johnson Street. Caller reported a man he knows used the caller’s bank card without the caller’s permission.

Tuesday, 7:19 p.m., residence in the 600 block of South Dougherty Street. Caller reported that neighbor kids shot her swimming pool full of holes with a BB gun.

Tuesday, 9:57 p.m., residence in the 800 block of South Oak Street. Caller reported she let her father borrow her vehicle and he had it taken from him without his permission by a male acquaintance. Information taken for a report.

Wednesday, 4:34 a.m., Dollar General Store, 123 W. Market St. Manager arrived at the store and discovered the lights were all on inside. She requested an officer to go through the store with her. No foul play was found.

Wednesday, 7:20 a.m., Almco Steel Products, 59 N. Oak St. Extended. Burglar alarm. Officer responded. No sign of foul play found.

Wednesday, 9:23 a.m., Hardee’s restaurant, 211 N. Main St. Caller reported a customer was asleep in his vehicle in the drive through. When he pulled up to get his food, he fell asleep again. Officer responded but the man was gone.

Tuesday, 1:35 p.m., farmer snagged an overhead phone line with a piece of farm equipment at Meridian Road and Wellsburg dragging down the wire onto the roadway.

Tuesday, 4:30 p.m., U.S. 224 at 200W. Sheriff’s deputy provided traffic control while a tire was being changed on a semi.

Tuesday, 9:17 p.m., residence on 100S east of 500E. Verbal altercation between two women. Sheriff’s deputies responded. Dispute resolved, situation calmed.

Wednesday, 12:33 a.m., Timber Ridge Golf Course, 2330E-250N. While out maintaining the golf course, one of the co-owners spotted a man walking on the 10th green. The co-owner went back to get his truck to confront the man but by the time he returned, the man was gone. Sheriffs’ deputies  checked the area but did not see anyone.

Wednesday, 9:01 a.m., 300S near 100W. REMC electric pole struck at the base by an unknown vehicle and then broke about 15 to 20 feet up the pole. The lines stayed intact. Whatever struck the pole had left the area.

County:

Tuesday, 5:02 p.m., Ind. 1 just south of 800S. Brian A. Jobe, 54, rural Pennville, suffered a seizure, drove his 2013 Hyundai Elantra off the road into the ditch where it slammed into an AEP electric pole and then rolled onto its driver’s side. The impact with the pole dropped the live electric wires into a ditch, which then caught on fire. Bluffton Fire Rescue, Nottingham Township Fire Department and Wells County EMS were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters freed the entrapped Jobe and put out the fire. Jobe was taken by EMS to Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Damage to the Elantra exceeded $10,000. The accident closed Ind. 1 to through traffic for more than an hour.

FIRE RUNS

Tuesday, 7:44 p.m., 1200N west of 450E. Tree fell and pulled down an AEP electric line. Ossian Fire Department dispatched. Wells County Highway Department contacted to post signs stating that the road is closed until a crew from AEP could arrive.

ARRESTS

Triandra Keshun Agee, 24, Fort Wayne; probation violation. No bond set.

Sabbian Jesse Zachari Miller, 23, Bluffton; probation violation. No bond set.
