Jerry A. “Jake” Michael, 73, Montpelier, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022, after a tragic accident.
He was born Oct. 24, 1948, in Montpelier. He married Patty L. (Carter) Michael on Sept. 16, 1972 in Montpelier.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa (Tom Jr.) Simmons, Montpelier; three sons, Jerry A. Michael, Jr., Montpelier, Donald L. (Hana) Michael, Montpelier, Rex (Dawn) Flatter, Selma; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Nila Sue (Jim) Letterman, Lockwood, Mo., Phyllis (Ronnie) Sexton, Monticello, Ky. and one brother, Randy M. Michael, Eaton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Richard Michael; mother, Margaret Esther (McDaniel) Michael; Brother, Larry E. Michael; and a great grandchild, Jenson A. Reynolds.
Calling hours are Thursday, June, 9 from 1 to 8 p.m. at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier.
A joint celebration of life service will be held at the Montpelier School gymnasium at 1 p.m. Friday, June 10. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
Friends and family who will be attending the service please enter school at the angle drive, Door 2. The north (Civic Center) and west parking lots may be used by those not going to the cemetery. Those wanting to join the procession going to the cemetery are asked to line up on Adams Street.
