An event co-sponsored by the Bluffton Parks and Recreation Department and the Wells County Public Library brought a mostly youthful contingent to the banks of the Wabash River east of Main Street Monday night to do a little housekeeping. Above, Otto Fiechter looks for trash — he had a particularly difficult fight with a well-attached plastic bag — along the steep bank of the river while his mother, Sarah, looks on. Below, sisters Emma Wirgau, 12, and Serena Wirgau, 13, scour the banks behind the River Greenway’s railing while others in the group move forward.
Above, mom Mary Beth Voght and her daughters Lucy, left, and Alison, right, wait on the giant Adirondack chair for the cleaning crew — which included their son and brother, Isaac — to return. Additional photo, Page 5. (Photos by Dave Schultz)
