Paul E. McCaffery, 76, of rural Delaware County, Ind., died at 2:25 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. His family was with him as he died.
He was born July 4, 1945, in Montpelier, to Sherman W. McCaffery and Anna Gibson McCaffery. He married Nancy Moore in March 1966 in Hartford City. His wife survives.
Additional survivors include his wife Nancy Moore) McCaffery, Muncie, IN, four sons, Scott McCaffery of Dunkirk, Paul McCaffery of Kokomo, Kevin (Candace) McCaffery of Eaton, and David (Stephanie) McCaffery of Hartford City; a daughter, Paula (Ryan) Fifer of Bryant; three brothers, John Raymond McCaffery of Hartford City, IN, Tim McCaffery of Dunkirk, and Cyle McCaffery of Lobelville, Tenn.; two sisters, Carolyn Sue Powers of Hartford City and Diana Hare of Lobelville; and 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren with two additional great-grandchildren expected this year.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Phillips and Mary Joan Tucker; three brothers, Garrett Daniel McCaffery, Bill McCaffery, and Dan McCaffery; and one granddaughter.
Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. in Hartford City on Thursday, April 28. Additional viewing hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Walker and Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St. in Montpelier. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Walker and Glancy Funeral Home.
