Dick A. DeArmond, 89, of Bluffton, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born in Bluffton Feb. 12, 1932, to Virgil and Mirle (Wilson) DeArmond; both parents preceded him in death. Dick married Beverly J. (Marshall) in Bluffton on May 9, 1953; she survives in Bluffton.

He was a 1952 graduate of Bluffton High School. Dick worked as an inspector for Franklin Electric for 44 years, retiring in 1998. Dick was always willing to help others, was a strong family man and enjoyed babysitting for his grandchildren.

Dick is survived by his wife Beverly; three daughters, Judy (L.B.) Chapman of Huntington, Diana (Richard) Houdyshell of Fort Wayne and Trina (John) Herron of Liberty Center; two sons, Rick DeArmond and Tyson McDonald, both of Bluffton; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob and Charles DeArmond; two sisters, Wanda Tarr and Rose Johnson; and one granddaughter, Tisha Brooke Jackson.

In accordance with Dick’s wishes, there will be no public services at this time. Burial will take place at a later date.
