Tigers ranked No. 2 in latest AP high school football poll
The Bluffton Tigers football team has jumped to No. 2 (2A) in the latest weekly football rankings by the Associated Press.
In last week’s poll, Bluffton sat in fourth, and leaped over LaVille (5-0), and Indianapolis Scecina.
The Tigers are 5-0 on the season with four weeks left to go. Their marque victory came againt South Adams, who has receiving votes in 1A, in which Bluffton won 41-6. Its biggest test will come in a few weeks with No. 2 Adams Central coming to town.

Knights fall to NE8 foe Eagles in volleyball
Norwell lost at home against Columbia City in three sets Tuesday night at The Castle.
The Knights lost the first set 25-23, the second 25-19, and the third 25-21. Their record is now 13-7 (0-2 NE8) on the season.
Hope Mitchell and Macie Saalfrank led the team with six kills, Jordyn Xayyachack with 19 digs, Kennody Williams with one block, Marlee Wenger with 14 assists, and Jenna Osborn with two aces.
Norwell lost the junior varsity match in two sets (25-19, 25-22), while the freshmen team lost in two sets (25-18, 25-24).
Norwell will host DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Tigers fall to Jets in V-ball
Bluffton’s volleyball team fell to Adams Central in three games Tuesday night at the Tiger Den.
The Tigers lost the first set 25-23, the second 25-15, and the third 25-20. Their record is now 7-11 (1-4 ACAC).
Stat leaders for the varsity team were Maryn Schreiber, with eight kills and six stuff blocks, Haley Gibson with 15 assists, and Marly Drayer with three aces and 18 digs.
The junior varsity team lost in two sets (25-21, 25-20).
Stat leaders for the junior varsity match were Rori Drayer and Rylynn Penick with three kills each, Isla Gibson with six assists and two aces, Sophie Eisenhut with two aces and one stuff block, and Madelyn Funk with 12 digs.
Bluffton will host Eastbrook at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21.
