Wells County’s upcoming magazine, Women of Wells, is looking for stories about inspiring women to celebrate and shine a lot on for its first upcoming issue.

The News-Banner’s newest publication will feature content written and captured by local women in the county. The first issue will be released on Oct. 31.

Jean Bordner and Brandi Freeman, both with The News-Banner, developed the idea for the magazine together.

“Brandy had the idea initially,” Border explained. “Then, I kind of just ran with it. I’m happy to introduce a women’s magazine to Wells County. I want it to be an authentic representation of the women here.”

The magazine hopes to gather stories about local women that have empowered, uplifted or encouraged others in the community. Additional content categories include: recipes, crafts, health, beauty, entertainment, hobbies and more. The magazine is accepting submissions for this first issue from Wells County women until Sept. 22.

For all contributions, please include your name, a photo, a photo of yourself and a short bio. The magazine asks the writer to format the submission as a Word document when possible and double-check spelling and grammar. All articles may be edited for length, grammar, content, style or tone.

Anyone with an interest in submitting a story for the magazine may email Jean at jeanb@news-banner.com. Paper mail submissions are also accepted at PO Box 436 in Bluffton.
