The Bluffton girls’ and boys’ basketball teams were in action Tuesday night.

The girls defeated Manchester on the road 55-42, which is a preview for the sectional quarter-final next week on Tuesday when the Squires travel to Bluffton. With the win, the girls’ broke a four-game losing skid.

Leading the scoresheet was Maryn Schreiber, who had 25 points. Next was Tressa Renner’s 10, followed by Haley Gibson (7), Konley Ault (6), Isabella Stout (3), Lily King (2), and Marly Drayer (2).

The junior varsity team lost 29-27. Leading the way were Shak Eskridge and Savannah Hughett with eight points each, followed by Cayah King (5), Eve Corkwell (4), and Evie Schantz (2).

The girls’ next game will be at home starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, against Whitko.

The boys’ team lost at home to Wabash 67-50. Tucker Jenkins led the way with 19 points, followed by Kaden Grau (13), Eli Garrett (6), Hunter Wenger (6), Fletcher Wenger (4), and Sam Baumgartner (2).

The junior varsity team won 56-30. Leading the way was Kaleb Green with 21 points, followed by Nolan Lambert’s and Ben Maggard’s eight.

The next game for the boys will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27 at Jay County.
