The Norwell Lady Knights defeated the Bluffton Lady Tigers 5-0 in both teams’ final tennis match of the regular season on Friday.
Aubreyan Heyerly defeated Monroe Heller 6-2, 6-2 in No. 1 singles. McKenna McNabb defeated Gretchen Crist 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 singles. Addy Heyerly defeated Alexis Grover 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles.
Annabelle Johnson and Mackinzie Toliver defeated Emily Mann and Madi Fenstermaker 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 doubles. Jordyn Xayyachack and Sofia Fernandez defeated Cadence Engle and Olivia Funk 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 in No. 2 doubles.
Norwell ends the regular season with a 15-1 record, while Bluffton finished 4-10.
The two Wells County schools were scheduled to play each other in their first match of the season, but rain forced the match to be rescheduled twice.
Norwell won the JV match 10-0.
Brooklynn Pine won No. 1 singles 8-0. Gracie Rinkenberger won No. 2 singles 8-0. Emma Roembke won No. 3 singles 8-1. Emma Batdorff won No. 4 singles 6-0.
Ella Krug and Becky Sicchiero won No. 1 doubles 8-0. Ciera Hiester and Lisa Beckman won No. 2 doubles 8-0. Renee Fraze and Taylor Werling won No. 3 doubles 6-0. Marlee Wenger and Isabel Isch won No. 4 doubles 6-0. Krug and Roembke won No. 5 doubles 6-0. Sicchiero and Beckman won No. 6 doubles 6-0.
Bluffton’s varsity lost its previous match at Carroll 5-0.
Victoria Skender defeated Heller 6-0, 6-0 in No. 1 singles. Kenna Shoup defeated Emma Baumgartner 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 10-4 in No. 2 singles. Katie Siegwarth defeated Crist 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 singles.
Mya lash and Tianna Trulock defeated Mann and Fenstermaker 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 in No. 1 doubles. Olivia Krzyzanowski and JJ Kokonaing defeated Engle and Funk 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 10-4 in No. 2 doubles.
Bluffton and Norwell will begin sectional competition next week at Norwell. Norwell will also host a JV Invite on Saturday.
