Sharon J. Lesh, 88, of Ossian, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 8, 2025, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Sharon was born in Columbia City on Oct. 18, 1936, to Robert and Vera (Cummins) Hewes. She married Richard “Dick” Lesh at the Jefferson Chapel in Whitley County on June 22, 1957. He preceded her in death on July 16, 2013.
Sharon graduated from Jefferson Township High School in Whitley County and later worked for Z-Brick in Fort Wayne for several years. She also worked for Northern Wells Community Schools as a substitute custodian for about four years. Sharon and Dick both had a passion for racing, with her favorite driver being Jeff Gordon. She was a big IU fan and also loved Notre Dame football. Above all else, Sharon loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie (Jim) Funk of Ossian, Becky (Brian) Grear of Ossian, and Linda (Scott) Kling of Yoder; two sons, Gary Lesh and Larry Lesh, both of Ossian; along with nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin L. Kling, and a sister, Adabelle Lang.
Visitation will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, followed immediately by a funeral service at 3 p.m., with Pastor Scott Kling officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ossian.
