Arlene E. Habegger, 97, of Bluffton, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 2, 2024, at Christian Care Retirement Community.

Arlene was born in Wolcott on March 17, 1927, to Jacob and Emma (Steffen) Bahler. She married Benjamin Habegger in Remington on March 20, 1949. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 2016.

Aside from staying at home to raise her children, Arlene also assisted her husband with their poultry and grain farming operations. She was a prayer warrior who had a servant’s heart and loved to help anywhere she saw a need. She was also a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Sam (Darlene) Habegger of Bluffton, Ted (Jane) Habegger of Poneto, and Tim (Teresa) Habegger of Bluffton; three daughters, Rosemary (Rod) Mounsey of Poneto, Ruby (Doug) Gerber of Bluffton, and Martha Stoller of Bluffton; two sisters, Lora Kupferschmid of Paxson, Illinois, and Janice Pfister of Leo; along with 26 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, and two on the way.

In addition to her parents and husband, Arlene was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Habegger; a grandson, Andrew Habegger; a great-granddaughter, Rachel Brooks; and three brothers, Elmer, Alfred and Lowell Bahler.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church, with additional visitation from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m., prior to the service at the church. Joe Gerber and Dan Pfister will officiate. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County.
