Thursday, 4:19 p.m., U.S. 224 and 450 E, Ossian. Report of an intoxicated driver. Driver said the vehicle was having mechanical issues and left at property per owner’s request.

Sunday. 5:32 p.m.. 2400 S 200 E, Bluffton. Caller reported a drone hovering over his property while shooting guns. Officer advised there are no current laws against this.

ACCIDENTS

County:

Thursday, 6:59 a.m., C.R. 100 E at the intersection of CR 900 N, Ossian. Rande Cronk, 71, Ossian, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on C.R. 100 E and was fatigued after getting done with a long shift and swerved after he thought he hit a deer. Joshua Gerber, 46, Ossian, advised that Cronk had clipped Gerber’s 2014 Ram 1500 side mirror and ran the vehicle off the roadway. Gerber followed Cronk nearly two miles before Cronk stopped and the parties waited for law enforcement. Damage did not exceed $1,000. 

Friday, 2:39 a.m., C.R. 100 E near 950 N, Ossian. Chelsea Bickford, 34, Markle, was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on C.R. 100 E when the rear tire blew out and Bickford lost control of the vehicle. The Tahoe entered the ditch on the east side of the road and continued through the property of 9775 N 100 E before stopping back on the road. Damages exceeded $2,500. Vehicle towed.

Friday, 7:10 a.m., C.R. 300 West and S.R. 218, Liberty Center. Derek Rockwell, 18, Liberty Center was stopped at the stop sign when his Buick Riviera was struck by a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Sarah Okey, 30, Craigville. Damages did not exceed $1,001.

Saturday, 9:10 p.m., C.R. 200 E at the intersection of 700 S, Nottingham Township. Lilly A. Gartin, 16, was driving a 2005 Pontiac G6 southbound on C.R. 200 E and struck a deer. Damage exceeded $5,000. 

Sunday, 1 a.m., C.R. 300 W at 800 N, Bluffton. Nathaniel W. Heckman, 46, Markle, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer and struck a deer. Damage exceeded $2,500. 

Sunday, 2:56 p.m., C.R. 100 W south of 1100 N, Zanesville. Janice M. Braun, 59, Markle, was driving a 2022 Toyota Sienna northbound on C.R. 100 W and struck a deer. Damage exceeded $1,000.

Marcus Frank James Randall, 18, Bluffton; operating a vehicle without receiving a license, a Class C misdemeanor. Bond not set.
