The jury, as well as two alternates, is composed of seven women and seven men.

Anthony Castleman, 38, is charged with the murder of his 72-year-old grandmother, Bernice “Dianna” Eubank.

Castleman is represented by Kristina Lynn and Katrina Lynn with Lynn Law Office of Wabash. The mother-and-daughter duo were appointed by the court in February. Huntington County Prosecutor Jeremy Nix represents the state, and Special Judge Samuel Conrad of Adams County presides over the case.

Approximately 45 jury members were interviewed, roughly half of those who were summoned. The process took the entirety of the first day of the trial.

Roughly half of those pooled admitted to hearing about the case from a friend or a source of media. Most jurors said that they could remain impartial despite this.

Jurors were also asked if they would remain impartial if Castleman exercised his right not to testify during the hearing — Kristina Lynn said the defense has not yet decided whether or not Castleman will take the stand.

The trial is slated to resume with opening statements at 8:30 a.m. today in the Huntington Circuit Court.
