Warren’s Salamonie Summer Festival kicks off three days of celebration Friday with the annual Samuel Jones breakfast in the morning and the festival’s parade in the evening.

The breakfast, where the Samuel Jones Award for civic service is presented each year, is at 8 a.m. at the Knight-Bergman Center. A full day of events includes the parade at 7 p.m. 

On Saturday, several events ­— a flea market, sidewalk chalk contest, antique tractor show, and a waterfall fight, among others ­— will be held during the day with a concert by the Bulldogs at Riverside Park from 7 to 9 p.m.

 On Sunday, a worship service will be held in the morning at Riverside Park, sponsored by the Warren Area Ministerial Association. Sunday evening, the Mountain Dewe Boys will present a concert at Tower Park with a fireworks show at dusk.

Other area celebrations are scheduled during the weekend and on Tuesday, July 4. They include:

Bluffton ­— Fireworks at Park Field, the football stadium at Bluffton  High School, at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 4.

Markle ­— The OK Boomer Band will perform from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 4, followed by a fireworks show.

Ossian ­— The Fireworks on the Hill event, sponsored by Ossian Parks and Recreation, will be presented from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at Archbold-Wilson Park. Food and drinks, music, and a fireworks show are planned. The Norwell marching band will be selling glow sticks, glasses, and other items.

Decatur ­— Music by Nightrain, a Guns ‘n’ Roses tribute band, opens the evening at 7 p.m. At 9 p.m., the American Legion will present a salute to fallen veterans. Fireworks are scheduled for 10 p.m. at Riverside Park. Food will be available from 5 to 10 p.m. at Riverside Center.

Fort Wayne ­— The Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra will present its annual free Patriotic Pops concert at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1, at Parkview Field. The concert’s finale will feature a fireworks show. Then, on Tuesday, July 4, the Fort Wayne TinCaps will have a home game at Parkview Field starting at 6:05 p.m. Fans can stay in their seats after the game for a view of the city’s Fourth of July fireworks at 10 p.m.

Huntington ­— A community fireworks show will be held at dusk Friday, June 30. The launch area will be the Huntington University cross-country course near Parkview Huntington Hospital on the city’s north side. 

Roanoke ­— The town will host a series of events the evening of Saturday, July 1. Kids’ games are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. and the Lions Club will host a food tent starting at 6 p.m. The Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department will offer to soak kids and adults alike in a “cool down” at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at dusk.
