Tommy M. Simmons Sr., 85, of Montpelier, died at 11:20 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at University Nursing Center in Upland. He was born Friday, Feb. 18, 1938, in Montpelier. He married Janet Fear Simmons Nov. 19, 1960, in Blackford County, Ind.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Elaine (Fear) Simmons, Montpelier; daughters, Tamara (David) Leas, Montpelier and Teresa Lynn (Warren Casterline) Simmons, Montpelier; son Tommy M. (Lisa) Simmons, Jr., Montpelier; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Francis Simmons; mother, Jenny Myrtle (Williams) Simmons Terhune; brother, Robert Francis Simmons; sister, Phyllis Hogan; and great-grandchild, Jenson A. Reynolds.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W. Windsor St. Montpelier, IN., Friday, June 2, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Tommy’s life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
