Bluffton Board of Works to meet Tuesday afternoon

The Bluffton Board of Public Works and Safety will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.

• A water adjustment on Elm Drive.

• Consideration of a nuisance animal appeal.

County Drainage Board will meet Tuesday afternoon

The Wells County Drainage Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.

• Soloman First tile drain in Liberty Township (drainage easement).

• Discussion of replacement of the Kain, B.F. tile drain in Lancaster Township. K

• Project updates and miscellaneous drainage matters.

The board of the Wells County Solid Waste District will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.

• Supervisor’s report.

County Commissioners will meet Tuesday afternoon

The Wells County Commissioners will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in Room 105, the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Wells Carnegie Government Annex, 223 W. Washington St.

Topics on the agenda include:

• Appointments with Sheriff Scott Holliday, Highway Superintendent Shawn Bonar, and Engineer Nate Rumschlag.

• Notice of intent to award Bridge 85 construction contract.

• Notice of intent to award Bridge 170 construction contract.

• Financial Commitment Letter for Community Crossings Matching Grant 2023-02 application.

• Design Wells County welcome signs, design Wells County flag, and return of the Civil War cannon to the courthouse plaza, brought to the commissioners by Brandon Harnish.

The board of the Southern Wells Community Schools will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20,  in the high school media center of the SWCS campus.

• Acceptance of donations.

• Don Wood Foundation grant.

• Surplus items.

• Personnel matters.

At 4:30 p.m., prior to the start of the regular meeting, the board will meet in executive session in the board’s meeting room. During the executive session, which will be closed to the public, the board will receive information about and interview prospective employees.

Bluffton Common Council will meet Tuesday evening

The Bluffton Common Council will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market St.

Before the council formally meets, it will be as the Bluffton Redevelopment Commission. The topics for the RDC meeting are two resolutions ­— one to sell two city lots and the other to establish a general fund.

Topics on the agenda for the regular meeting will be:

• A funding request from the Wells County Council on Aging.

• Consideration of an ordinance for an additional appropriation to the County Economic Development Income Tax fund.

• Consideration of an ordinance to vacate a public way.

• A variance request.

• A petition to vacate an easement.

• Review of tax abatement documents for WEG and ADM.

• Consideration of an agreement for the Cherry Street electrical substation transmission design, brought to the council by City Engineer Kelly White.

Markle Town Council will meet Wednesday evening

The Markle Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, in the Markle Town Hall, 197 E. Morse St. in Markle.

Topics on the agenda are:

• Consideration of a resolution to adopt the town’s 2023 comprehensive plan.

• Consideration of an ordinance amending the town code.

• Consideration of town correspondence concerning Ride 2 Provide, Markle Redevelopment Commission ­— TIF District pass-through letters; and a notice from the Indiana Department of Environmental concerning Wayne Metals air permit.

• A report from Huntington County United Economic Development.

• The superintendent’s, town marshal’s, assistant superintendent’s, and clerk-treasurer’s reports.

PSAP Advisory Board will meet Thursday morning

The Public Safety Advisory Board will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 22, in the Bluffton City Courtroom inside the Bluffton Police/Fire Building, 204 E. Market St.

The only new topic on the agenda will be a review of the 2024 Public Safety budget.
