Willard G. “Will” Seals, 76, of Bluffton, passed away Sunday morning, May 7, 2023, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Will was born in Sneedville, Tenn., June 30, 1946, to Willard G. and Ruby (Parks) Seals. He married Kathleen Meyer on April 1, 1967, in Decatur. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Will is survived by a son, Shawn (Jennifer) Seals of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Douglas Seals and David Seals both of Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Brenda Ridings and Judy Robbins both of Va.; three brothers, Fallas Seals, David Seals, and Billy Seals all also of Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Will worked in the coal mines of Virginia as a teen before moving to Bluffton to work at Sterling Casting and then at Corning Glass from 1966-1983. He became a skilled tradesman and worked for General Motors in Marion for 25 years, until his retirement in 2008.
After retirement, Will and Kathy spent the winters in Orange Beach, Ala. Will enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and his dog Bailey. He especially cherished spending time with his grandsons Douglas and David.
Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2023, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Tony Garton will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date.
