Susan Frances Fischer, 78, of Tampa, Fla., a former resident of Bluffton, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Indianapolis.

She was born May 28, 1944, in Detroit, Mich., to George Potter and Mary Ann Bates Potter.

Susan was an R.N. for many years before retiring. She adopted and rescued many dogs, and had pet birds. Susan liked spending time boating on Lake James and living in Florida. She could be found watching old movies or working on a craft project. Susan was a good friend and neighbor. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her children, Tim Shannon (Donna Bird), Lisa (Dale Woodall) Rumsey, and Nancy (Brian) Oliver; four grandchildren, Karli VanCleave, Kaitlyn Rumsey, Lincoln (Samantha) Wyatt, and Ryan Oliver; and one great-grandchild, Fox Henry Wyatt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Fischer, and a brother, George E. Potter III.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, March 10, at the Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
