Thursday, 2:06 p.m., intersection of West Horton and South Morgan streets. School resource officer notified of a vehicle passing a stop arm on a school bus.

Thursday, 4:18 p.m., Walmart Supercenter, 2100 N. Main St. Report of a theft.

Thursday, 8:31 p.m., motorist assist in the 1200 block of Manor Drive.

Friday, 6:53 a.m., Walmart Supercenter. Two semis asked to leave parking lot.

Friday, 7:02 a.m., intersection of North Morgan and West Perry streets. Black labrador sitting next to dumpster, possibly abandoned. Officer investigated; dog not found.

Friday, 9 a.m., 911 phone call from Comfort Inn, 1782 N. Main St. Children in a room  made the call.

Friday, 10:32 a.m., Bluffton High School. Truancy report received.

Friday, 11:38 a.m. Wood reported as a traffic hazard near Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Wood cleared from roadway.

County:

Thursday, 4:58 p.m., County Road 450E at 700N. Citation issued for 84 in a 45 mph zone. 

Thursday, 8:04 p.m., Ind. 116 in Vera Cruz. Tyler M. Diek, 41, Geneva, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and ran off the road and rolled over. Witness Tomas Arriaga recalled the truck had been swerving all over the road in front of him. Investigating office smelled alcohol on Diek and received a warrant for blood draw. Results pending. Diek was transported to Bluffton Regional Medical due to his injuries. The vehicle was towed by Pemberton’s. Damage exceeded $10,000.

Thursday, 10:08 p.m., 5351E 1000S. Alarm. Located open doors, cleared building. 

ACCIDENTS

City:

Thursday, 8:23 p.m., Ind. 1, 1,000 feet south of Wells County Road 350S, A Chrysler Pacifica van driven by Andrea S. Esterhai, 45, 1131 S. Jersey St., struck a deer as the vehicle was southbound on Ind. 1. Car damaged in right front headlight area and bumper cover. Damage estimated at less than $1,000. Vehicle was drivable.

County:

Thursday, 5:35 a.m., County Road 700E at 300S in Vera Cruz. Travis J. Callahan was driving northbound on Country Road 700E in a 2005 Che Ave and failed to see the road curve after dropping his cigarette. Callahan hit the brakes and continued into the guardrail. Vehicle was towed by Pemberton’s and the guardrail received significant damage. Damage exceeded $2,500.
