Gary L. Davis, Sr., 69 of Poneto, passed away on Tuesday morning, Dec. 27, 2022, in Ossian.
He was born on Jan. 1, 1953, in Wells County, Indiana to George & Judy (Flowers) Davis, Sr. and attended Bluffton High School. Gary started working at Ossian Smoked Meats at the age of 17 and enjoyed every day he has worked there for the last 52 years.
On April 5, 1982, in Bluffton, Gary & Rita J. (Alford) were married.
Survivors include his wife Rita of Poneto, along with three sons: Justin Lee (Teresa) Davis of Zanesville, Eric (Kim) Davis of Warren, and Gary L. Davis, Jr. of Bluffton, along with one very special granddaughter, Makenzie Davis.
Gary is also survived by his siblings; Karen (John) Conrad, Sally Dillion, Betsy Davis, Bonnie Peeper and Frank (Ruby) Davis, all of Bluffton.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: George Davis, Jr., Rick Davis and Freman Davis.
A service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., Dec. 31, 2022, at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home with Pastor Jerrod Mounsey officiating. Burial will follow at McFarren Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Fri., Dec. 30, 2022, at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service on Sat.
