Anita M. Dathe, 60, of Ossian, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022, surrounded by her husband and two sons.
She was born on May 4, 1962, in Fort Wayne to Charles E. and G. Diane (Gordon) Guiler.
Anita retired from ProFed Credit Union after 30+ years of service. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution -— Charles William Wells Chapter and was a graduate of Taylor University with a degree in business.
Anita will be remembered for her kind heart, sense of humor, and embracive attitude. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, spending time with her grandson and pets and exploring new restaurants.
Anita is survived by her husband, Loren Dathe, whom she married on November 28, 1987, in Fort Wayne; sons, Matthew Dathe and Jonathan (Danielle) Dathe; grandchildren, Oliver Dathe and expecting Chloe Dathe; father, Charles “Chic” Guiler; brother, Douglas (fiancé, Jaime Becker) Guiler; nephew, Greg (girlfriend, Danielle Boneff) Guiler; and cousins, Ann (Don Wallace) Wheeler, Jarrod (Kathy) Hahn, Jacob Hahn, Cassie (Keith) Hall, Allison Hall, and Katie Wheeler.
She was preceded in passing by her mother, G. Diane (Gordon) Guiler; infant brother, Lynn; and father-in-law, Calvin A. Dathe. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6514 E 750 N Ossian, Indiana 46777, with visitation one hour prior. Friends may also visit from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill Street Ossian, Indiana 46777. Burial to follow the service at Stahl Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ossian, Canine Companions, or a local animal shelter of your choice.
