Artist Hilarie Couture brought some paintings from her “Unity With Variety” display to the Caylor-Nickel Foundation Family YMCA Thursday afternoon. The event was part of the Greater Fort Wayne YMCA’s Welcoming Week series of programs. Above Couture is shown on the left with Ana Giusti, an immigrant from the South American nation of Peru, on the right, and below, Sandy Alano Ortego, who is originally from the Philippines, tells his story to those who came by to listen. All of the people portrayed in the paintings now live in the Fort Wayne area. The formal opening for Couture’s show will be Oct. 1 at the downtown branch of the Fort Wayne Public Library.
