The Mark Trammell Quartet will be in concert at the Gospel Barn of Bluffton at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.
The group is “one of America’s most popular and dynamic southern gospel quartets,” says Jim Loving, a promoter for Gospel Barn shows. “Many long-time industry observers and followers of gospel music consider him to be one the finest baritone singers of all time.”
Trammell, of Gadsden, Ala., has been singing gospel music for more than 38 years. The vocation, he says, “evolved from a dream to a life’s call; from just singing to ministry.” Trammell has won multiple awards as a singer and producer and has been a member of four of southern gospel’s best-known groups — The Kingsmen, The Cathedrals, Greater Vision, and Gold City.
Since he was 15 years old, Trammel has worked with some of the most respected men in southern gospel music. Taking on the mantel of mentor, he is now surrounding himself with three talented young vocalists — Stephen Adair, tenor; Nick Trammell, second tenor; and Will Lane, bass. Trevor Conkle is the group’s pianist.
The Gospel Barn of Bluffton is at 429 Dustman Road on the campus of Hope Missionary Church. Tickets are general admission at the door. For information, call 651.269.2120 or visit www.thegospelbarnofbluffton.com
