E&B Paving, the contractor doing the patching and  repaving on Ind. 1/North Main Street for the Indiana Department of Transportation, has given the city a tentative timetable for the work.

The company is doing much of the patch  work  now and, according to an announcement from the city posted on Facebook, they will start  to  pave the turn lanes Friday.

Starting Monday, the company will begin paving the four traffic lanes, starting with the outside lanes — probably during the overnight hours.

“They are not sure of the hours but are considering 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.,” the announcement from Mayor John Whicker’s office said. The announcement added that the work is expected to take four nights.

“During the road work, Main Street will be a mess … and there’s not much that we can do to prevent the traffic congestion that comes with a project such as this,” the announcement said. “Emergency services, if needed, will always have access to your location.”
