William “Tony” Brooks, 62, of Montpelier, died at his home at 8:53 a.m. Friday, June 10, after an extensive battle with throat cancer.
He was born June 15, 1959, in Hartford City. He married Karen Kay Kessler Sept. 29, 1984, in Hartford City. His wife survives in Montpelier.
Additional survivors include three sons, Justin (Heidi) Brooks of Sheridan, Christopher (Tiffany) Brooks of Montpelier, Brandon (Chelsea) Brooks of Kokomo; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Stacy Wallisa and Kelly Wallisa, both of Oklahoma City; and a sister, Sandy Owsley of Appalachia, Va.
He was preceded in death by his father, William L. Brooks; his mother, Mary Ann Graves Wallisa; two brothers, Randall Brooks and Troy Wallisa; a sister, Kimberley Seibel; and his stepmother, Alpha Brooks.
Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 13, at the Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St. in Montpelier. A service to celebrate Tony’s life will be at held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
